You must have noticed that sometimes during cold start of the engine of motorcycle (bike) & scooty (scooter) specially in the winter morning, white smoke from the silencer comes out for few seconds or minute. If this goes away in a couple of minutes, it is just moisture in the exhaust that is normal. Combustion produces water vapor as a by product. This water vapor collects in the muffler until the exhaust system and muffler become hot enough to vaporize it completely. This is why this white exhaust goes away after a few minutes.
