Cristi Walker has been living with congenital heart disease — in essence, half of a functional heart. Her condition, called pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum, required multiple surgeries throughout childhood. Now Walker, 32, requires specialized adult cardiac care to address her complex health needs. She has become a patient of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at UC San Diego Health.
