The Collaborative Task is the second part of the ISE II Speaking and Listening Module. In this task it is your responsibility to keep the conversation going. It lasts 4 minutes.

The Collaborative Task is quite particular and rather interesting in that it reenacts a conversation with a friend or colleague. It starts with the examiner reading a prompt that resembles an opinion or a problem. This is when the role play begins. It is the candidates task to find out why the examiner has this opinion and ask for more details to understand his or her situation.

How to answer to the prompt of ISE II Collaborative Task?
First step: the candidate must find out the reasons for the examiner's opinion. This is done by asking questions (why, when, who)
Second Step: Once the candidate has a more clear picture, he can give his opinion, give advice or talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the situation that the examiner has brought up.

HELP! What can you do if you didn't understand the examiner's question?
If the examiner is giving an opinion, it is as simple as asking: 'Why do you think that?' In this way you make sure that the examiner explains his point of view in detail.

How can you prepare for the collaborative task?
First of all, watch videos of candidates taking the ISE II Speaking and Listening exam. This is a conversation, so it is a good idea to make sure that you can ask and understand questions. To improve your interactive listening skills, make sure you listen to a lot of audios with two speaker discussing an issue.

Este video te explica como es el Collaborative task del examen B2 de Trinity y te da algunos ejemplos de Collaborative tasks para que ayudarte a prepararte para esta prueba.

El collaborative task es la segunda parte del Speaking & Listening Test de ISE II. Es una conversación con el examinador. Lo que caracteriza a el 'Collaborative Task' es que se parece a una conversación que podrías tener con un amigo o conocido. Por ello, en el Collaborative Task este parte ambos tenéis que actuar. Durante el Topic task la conversación esta centrada en el candidato, sin embargo, en el Collaborative Task se centra en el examinador. El examinador lee una opinion o observación como si fuera suya, pero no termina de explicar porque tiene esa opinion. Tu debes hacerle preguntas para entender mejor su opinion y para que te explique mejor los detalles de lo que esta diciendo. Una vez tengas una idea más clara puedes empezar a dar sugerencias o dar consejos para 'ayudar' al examinador, en este momento puedes hablar de ventajas y desventajas

¿Qué no debes hacer?
En el Collaborative Task hay dos cosas que debes evitar: La primera es quedarte callado, la segunda es hablar de ti mismo. No debes quedarte callado porque de ti depende que la conversación continue. Si tu dejas de hablar el examinador también lo hará y nadie quiere eso.

¿Cómo puedes prepararte para el Collaborative Task?
Practica utilizando los las funciones del lenguaje de ISE II (B2) . Practica también a hacer todo tipo de preguntas. Aprende expresiones para indicar que estas de acuerdo o en desacuerdo. También es muy importante que valores las ventajas o desventajas de el tema que estáis valorando. Mira los videos de la web oficial de Trinity de exámenes de Speaking and listening.

¿Que hacer si no has entendido nada del Collaborative prompt?
Hay un truco infalible en este caso, siempre puedes preguntar: 'Why do you think that?' Esta es una pregunta neutra que vale para cualquier opinion que el examinador tenga.
