Montréal | 5th-Alarm Downtown Fire in Fourth Floor Apartment - Montréal Fire Department (SIM)

Описание: SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2017 - At approximately 10:00 hrs (EST), SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal) firefighters from Station 25 responded to 3414 Stanley Street in the Downtown district of Montréal, QC for a call of a working fire with smoke showing. Upon arrival, firefighters determined that the fire was on the fourth floor and roof of a multi-level apartment building. Several of the building's tenants were home at the time and unaware of the situation but were promptly evacuated by firefighters. Command Post 1005 was assigned to the incident due to the probability of the situation becoming worse. A second alarm was issued, then a subsequent third, fourth, and finally a fifth alarm at around 12:00 hrs. Police officers from the SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) were on the scene to control traffic and secure a perimeter and Urgences-Santé paramedics were also standing by as a preventative measure. At 14:00 hrs, a Division Chief called for 10 additional fire trucks to replace some of the 130+ firefighters who had been working for four hours straight in freezing temperatures. At 16:00 hrs, the signal went through that the fire had been extinguished. No injuries were reported. Some firefighters and investigators remained at the scene to conduct an inquiry into the cause of the fire.
