EDIT As the United States Marine Corps denied my waiver, I am now serving Active Duty in the United States Navy, attending GMA at TSCGL. I intend to serve out my 4 years in the Navy, do 4 years of college, and try to go into the Marines as an Officer 8 years from now.
In May 2011 I tried to enlist in the United States Marine Corps; after being processed at MEPS on June 1st, a BUMED waiver was made necessary due to a shoulder injury I attained as a high school wrestler 4 years previous. My BUMED waiver was requested on June 16th, and submitted July 7th. The second week of Novemeber the news came back that my BUMED waiver had been denied, with no reason given, despite recommendations by inspecting medical staff that I be approved.
I am now submitting a letter, as well as this video on DVD, to my Senator, Bill Nelson (D Florida), in hopes that he and his staff will intervene on my behalf, and overturn the denial of my waiver, allowing me to enlist and serve as a United States Marine.
