Hello, dear viewers! Welcome to another episode of “Toys by VN”, the channel where we review and showcase the best diecast models of cars from different eras and countries. Today we have two awesome models of Soviet cars from the 1970s and 1980s: the Izh-Pickup and the Moskvich 433. These models are produced by Tantal, a famous Russian manufacturer of collectibles, in 1/43 scale.
The Izh-Pickup was a car based on the Izh-2715 van, but with an open cargo bed, a more powerful engine, and improved suspension. It was designed by the Izhmash factory in Izhevsk, and was the first Soviet pickup truck. The Izh-Pickup was launched in 1972, and was sold in various countries, such as Finland, France, Germany, Iran, and Cuba. The Izh-Pickup had a 4-cylinder side valve engine, with a displacement of 1220 cc and a power of 45 hp, or a 4-cylinder overhead valve engine, with a displacement of 1480 cc and a power of 75 hp, depending on the version. The Izh-Pickup could reach a maximum speed of 120 km/h, and had a fuel consumption of 10.3 liters per 100 km. The Izh-Pickup was produced until 2001, and about 2.3 million units were made. The Tantal model is a replica of the Izh-Pickup, with a red body, a black interior, and a silver engine. You can see the open cargo bed, the chrome bumpers, and the license plate number 01-02 on the front and the back.
The Moskvich 433 was a van based on the Moskvich 408 sedan, but with a longer and more spacious body, a folding rear seat, and a horizontal niche for the spare wheel under the floor. It was designed by Sergey Churazov, the head of the body design bureau at the Moscow factory of small cars (MZMA). The Moskvich 433 was launched in 1967, and was the first Soviet car with a five-door van body, which was very practical and versatile. The Moskvich 433 had a 4-cylinder side valve engine, with a displacement of 1360 cc and a power of 45 hp, or a 4-cylinder overhead valve engine, with a displacement of 1480 cc and a power of 75 hp, depending on the version. The Moskvich 433 could reach a maximum speed of 125 km/h, and had a fuel consumption of 8.5 liters per 100 km. The Moskvich 433 was produced until 1976, along with a four-wheel drive version, the Moskvich 434. About 87,000 units of the Moskvich 433 and 434 were made, and some of them are still in use today. The Tantal model is a replica of the Moskvich 433, with a blue body, a gray interior, and a black engine. You can see the side panel with curved gutters, the rear panel with a high threshold of the luggage lid, and the license plate number 01-02 on the front and the back.
