The political sphere in Tamil Nadu is intensifying ahead of next year's assembly elections as the AIDMK, facing internal conflict, attempts to form an alliance with actor Vijay's TVK party. Former Tamil Nadu minister and AIDMK leader Rajendra Balaji has called for a united opposition to remove the current DMK-led government. The AIDMK also claimed that without its support, Vijay's party would not achieve a 'pass mark' in the polls. However, the TVK has stated it will not form an alliance with the DMK, AIDMK, or the BJP. Vijay has clarified his party's position by stating, "while BJP is its ideological enemy, DMK is its only political enemy." The Tamil Nadu speaker also advised the actor-politician to use respectful language when referring to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister.
