Cutting out intricate designs can be difficult and time consuming. This video gives you tips on how to successfully cut and weed intricate designs with both the Cricut and Silhouette Cameo machines.

Jessica starts out showing how to cut intricate designs with the Silhouette and Cricut machines. One thing that will make a big difference in your cutting is having a sharp blade. If your blade is dull, we recommend either sharpening it or getting a new one.

It also may help to slow down the speed and adjust the thickness to the appropriate setting. When your vinyl is cut, weed it slowly, making sure to not leave any little pieces behind.

After it’s weeded, apply transfer tape and smooth it down with the application tool. Peel the design off slowly from the backing sheet, making sure all the little pieces are adhering to the transfer tape.

Another tip mentioned in this video is using the transfer tape to pull out little pieces of intricate designs. That can be helpful when there are a lot of little pieces that need to be weeded out.
