Visit Kasbah Taourirt - Ouarzazate

Описание: The Kasbah in Taourirt is one of the highlights on the path from Marrakesh to Zagora and the Sahara. Constructed as a fortress to control the caravan trade routes between Marrakesh and Timbuktu, the Kasbah is one of the best preserved of its kind.

Despite a time of disrepair, the fortress has been restored in parts and can now be visited for a low fee (20 Diham in our case). Compared to the crowds at Ait-Ben-Haddou, the Kasbah is almost peaceful. We could explore large part of it on our own.

While some families still live in the unrestored parts, the fortress mixes historic muesum and living quarters.
