Espirito is Australia’s own latin/funk/jazz super-band building on the styles of Herbie Hancock, George Duke, Tito Puente, Chick Corea, Santana, and Tania Maria.
Securing the Monday night residency for over a decade at Sydney’s The Basement, Espirito proved itself with every touring musician making the Monday night at Circular Quay their funky latin jazz destination. If you wanted to know what was happening in town, you started with Espirito. Opening for Dizzy Gillespie World band at Sydney Entertainment Centre, the band has jammed with Brazil’s Sergio Mendez, Greece’s Dalaras, and Frank Zappa’s own Chad Wackerman and Alan Zavod. Equally at home on the festival stage, Espirito has performed at Carnivale, Festival Del Sol, Latin By The Sea, Kiama Jazz Festival, Manly Festival, Bondi By The Sea, Darling Harbour Festival, and NYE Concerts.
