As the Vagabond was passing through on route to Manchester, Leeds was actually a surprising delight to look at. It had an interesting mixture of modern, glass trimmed building sat next to the classic old English styled looking ones. Particularly, a building that stood out was the Leeds Kirkgate Market. Sat on the corner of a main intersection downtown, it was hard to miss. On a bright morning the sun was just high enough to crest over the buildings opposite and give the market building a glow. A radiant glitter that screamed "tourists welcome" The outside of buildings like these are always so deceiving as cities want to preserve the aesthetic of old but remodel the inside to make it a more comfortable shopping environment. The Vagabond knows these tricks and he's keen to know a set-up when he sees one.

Leeds, located in West Yorkshire, England, has a rich and varied history that stretches back to ancient times. Originally a forested area known as Loidis in the Celtic kingdom of Elmet, it became a minor Anglo-Saxon settlement. By the time of the Domesday Book in 1086, Leeds was a small manor. The town began to grow significantly during the Middle Ages, gaining a market charter in 1207 which spurred economic development. Wool was a major driver of the local economy, with Leeds becoming a significant center for the trade in the 14th and 15th centuries.
