Saint Agatha was a young Christian virgin and martyr who lived in Catania, Sicily, around 230-251 AD. She consecrated her life to Jesus Christ and refused to marry the Roman Prefect Quintianus, who sought to possess her beauty and wealth. Despite brutal torture, including having her breasts cut off, Agatha remained steadfast in her faith. According to tradition, Saint Peter appeared to her in prison and healed her wounds.-
