Описание: Discover SANCCOB’s upcoming Chick Rearing Unit, set to be completed in April 2024. This state-of-the-art facility will double our conservation efforts. This new facility will double our capacity from incubating 200 eggs to 400 and rearing 100 chicks to 200. This building project forms part of the African Penguin Chick Bolstering Programme, a critical initiative in the African Penguin Biodiversity Management Plan. With fewer than 8,300 breeding pairs remaining in South Africa, and their status now listed as Critically Endangered, this project is a vital step toward reversing their decline and securing their future.
