🧵In this video, I’ll guide you through 11 simple steps to sew a beautiful linen tote bag. This project is perfect for anyone looking to create a practical and stylish accessory. The idea for this bag came to me after creating a beautiful patchwork pattern that perfectly complemented the design of a linen tote. 🌟The finished tote bag measures 48 cm x 38 cm (19 x 15 inches) to the base corners. Let’s get started!
✂️ Materials You’ll Need:
➡️Main body (base): Linen fabric, 25 cm x 52 cm (10 x 20.5 inches), and fusible interfacing of the same size.
➡️Side panels: Two pieces of pattern or fabric which you prefer, 29 cm x 52 cm (11.5 x 20.5 inches), and two batting pieces of the same size (I pre-quilted these two fabric panels).
➡️Top panels: Linen fabric, 12 cm x 52 cm (5 x 20.5 inches), and two pieces of fusible interfacing measuring 6 cm x 52 cm (2.5 x 20.5 inches).
➡️Bag handles: Linen fabric, 7.5 cm x 120 cm (3 x 47 inches), and fusible interfacing, 2.5 cm x 60 cm (1 x 23.5 inches).
➡️Lining cotton fabric: 81 cm x 52 cm (32 x 20.5 inches). I recommend adding an extra 2 cm (0.75 inches).
➡️Pocket fabric: 25 cm x 33 cm (10 x 13 inches).
➡️Magnetic snap button.
❗Seam allowance: I used a 1 cm (0.4 inch) seam allowance throughout the project.
