Violinist Yuyu Ikeda debuted at the age of ten as a soloist with the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra. Currently based in New York, she regularly performs with the New York Classical Players and Princeton Symphony Orchestra. In 2022-23, she served as concertmaster for the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra and assistant concertmaster for Juilliard Orchestra.

A passionate chamber musician, Yuyu recently won first prize at the Ruth Widder String Quartet Competition, and her quartet was invited to perform at Juilliard’s 2022 Focus Festival, led by Joel Sachs.

As an educator, she taught for Juilliard’s Music Advancement Program in 2021-2023, was chamber faculty for the 2023 The Artists Program, and was a teaching artist at Midori and Friends in 2021-2022.

She also regularly programs outreach concerts with Concerts in Motion, Project Music Heals Us, and Concerts for Compassion to make music more accessible. An alumna of Juilliard (MM) and Oberlin (BA/BM), she currently continues her studies at the Manhattan School of Music.
