International Women’s Day: Haryana village installs nameplates of educated women to inspire girls

Описание: Ahead of International Women's Day, Ghani Kheda village in Ambala has launched a unique initiative to encourage girls to pursue higher education.

The village panchayat has installed nameplates outside homes displaying the names and degrees of women who have completed their graduation. According to Parveen Dhiman, at least 33 women in the village have graduated, including daughters and daughters-in-law, and nameplates have been placed outside their homes to inspire others.

Residents say the initiative has created a sense of pride among women and is motivating young girls to continue their education beyond school so that their names can also be displayed in the future.

Villagers believe the step sends a strong message that educating daughters gives them identity, confidence and respect in society.
