Living Green Elephant Sanctuary (Chiang Mai, Thailand) is an ethically‑focused sanctuary that began in 2016 with two rescued elephants—Boon‑Me and Thu‑Meh—and now cares for around 20 elephants across multiple camps  .

🐘 What You’ll Experience

Program Options
• Half‑Day Morning / Afternoon – ≈ 5 hours: feed, walk and optionally bathe elephants. Includes hotel pickup, traditional attire, a local meal, and a short rural drive (~1.5 hours) through scenic countryside .
• Full‑Day Program (9–10 hours): everything above plus herbal medicine making, planting seedlings, elephant health checks, and bamboo rafting along the Wang River .

Animal Welfare
• No riding or shows. Elephants live freely, without force, allowing natural behaviours in jungle and river surroundings .
• Programs are designed around elephant preferences—such as only bathing them if they choose to enter the water—and include veterinary health monitoring .

Conservation & Community
• The sanctuary supports local border‑village communities by hiring local staff, sourcing elephant food from nearby farms, and selling local products to visitors .
• Eco‑practices include sustainable farming and waste reduction initiatives at the sanctuary .
