This morning started off normal, with a Mating pair of lions found in the far southern Kruger National Park. Minutes later, I saw a young male lion, running for his life on the tarmac road, and I had to turn around. Males roaring in the background, you already know that it will be a special sighting, but never did I see Male Lions so active, and never did I thought, I would witness what I did. As it turned out, the Gomondwane Males, Tank, Splitnose and Blondie was chasing away possible threats to their territory. Tank, Splitnose and Blondie has been in the Hippo pools concession for a long time, mating, forming bonds and at the same time, opening the door for a Vurhami pride takeover. Zaza(Tank's boy) and the other Vurhami young males however, stepped over a thin line. We remember what happened to Vurhami Mo, and it looks like history is repeating itself in front of our eyes. I have been so focused on the Nkhulu males in Sabi Sands area(the new version of the Mapogo lions), and Dreadlocks De La Porte, that I lost focus on the Gomondwane males. So many Male lions lost, Father LubeyLubey, one of his rivals seems to be not healing too, Dreadlocks badly hurt, we surely seen enough......or have we.....? Lion dynamics actively change, the winds of the Kruger has changed....
