In this video, I will show you my most comprehensive techniques yet for Vectric Vcarve Inlays using Imperial (USA) Measurements. I will cover how to find parameters for your tapered ballnose bits for use with both Zank Method vcarve inlays, and the new Vcarve Inlay Toolpath for Vectric Version 12 Pro, and Aspire. Techniques for both end-grain and face grain inlays will be shown.

Zank (Traditional Method) Formula:
Start Depth + Flat Depth = Pocket Depth + 0.040 inches
Plug Too Loose: Reduce Start Depth, Increase Flat Depth.
Plug Too Tight: Increase Start Depth, Decrease Flat Depth.
Vcarve Inlay Toolpath Formula:
(Pocket Depth - Glue Gap) + Surface Gap = Pocket Depth + 0.040 inches
Plug Too loose: Pocket Depth - Glue Gap (increase) + Surface Gap (Increase) = Pocket Depth + 0.040 inches
Plug Too Tight: Pocket Depth - Glue Gap (Decrease) + Surface Gap (Decrease) = Pocket Depth + 0.040 inches
