In this test I demonstrate using magnets, specific gravity, and destructive testing to show a fake Australian kookaburra. This was bought on ebay 12-10-12. In all fairness, the seller refunded my money.
The American Silver Eagle and the Kookaburra are almost exact in diameter however the kook is much thicker - this is needed for it to weigh correctly.
According to online sources, this coin is "White Copper" - a 75% copper alloy with nickel and zinc - this would give the specific gravity I found of ~8.4, vs 10.49 of silver. The specific gravity test would be very difficult for a fake to pass.

Note the feathers under the bill, and the crown. There are more, but with the metal file taken to the coin, all is obviously fake.
