Monobenzone is the only FDA approved product for Depigmentation therapy for Vitiligo. However, most eligible candidates all over the world struggle to find and afford monobenzone to complete their depigmentation treatment to finally get rid of their patches and make their skin a uniform white color. The internet is also full of scammers who sell their overpriced and sometimes fake monobenzone products to unsuspecting buyers.

This video illustrates step by step DIY method to make monobenzone cream using a simple recipe. This is also the cheapest way to get your monobenzone.

The recipe for 20% monobenzone cream is as below

Ingredients list for 500 GM (grams) Monobenzone cream (20% strength)
1. Monobenzone powder- 100 GM
2. Moisturizer- 170 ML or GM
3. Hand Sanitizer-30 ML or GM
4. Glycerin- 100 ML or GM
5. Aloe Vera Gel- 70 ML or GM
6. Retin A or Tretinoin- 0.05% (30ML) It is optional item and can be replaced with 30ml moisturiser.

equipment
1. Kitchen scale- ( should be able to measure small quantities such as few gms )
2. Kitchen blender ( minimum 400-500W)

The ingredients are as follows for 30% mono for 500 gm/ml mix
1. 150 gm mono powder
2. 40 ml/gm hand sanitiser
3. 100 ml/gm glycerin
4. 150 ml/gm moisturizer.(shouldn't be too thick)
5. 30 ml/gm Aloe Vera Gel
6. 30ml Retin A cream. (0.05% strength)

The ingredients are as follows for 40% mono for 500 gm/ml mix

1. 200 gm mono powder
2. 50 ml/gm hand sanitiser
3. 100 ml/gm glycerin
4. 120 ml/gm moisturiser
5. 30ml Retin A cream (0.05% strength)

Warning- Monobenzone is not a skin lightener cosmetic. It is used by people with vitiligo to permanently remove the pigment of their skin to make it match their vitiligo skin. Do not use it if you do not have Vitiligo. It can cause Chemical vitiligo in people with normal skin.
