During his visit to meet the victims' families, Vijay expressed deep sorrow and said that he had trusted the police to manage the crowd. However, due to lack of timely information, the tragic incident could not be prevented.

He alleged that despite relying on the police, he was blamed for the deaths. He also targeted DMK, accusing them of taking political advantage of the situation.
