Another Friday evening on the bayou . . .
The water cooled down during the week. I wore my wetsuit for fear of hypothermia should I fall in. Fortunately I stayed on the board.
The winds were a little gusty as we have a nasty front coming in. At times I had to push-pole to make headway into the wind. The tendonitis in my shoulders parlayed me into an earlier than usual exit off the water.
I found a MirrOLure She Pup and a bent machete.
The machete was stuck point-down in the mud. The tide was down a bit, which exposed the handle above the water. I'm sure there's a story behind how the machete got there--probably dropped by a boater hacking at no telling what.
I caught a limit of speckled trout--lunch for Saturday and Sunday. I saw one flounder and one gar. Not bad for late January.
