Prior to introducing jellyfish into the aquarium, the tank must be cycled! This process known as the nitrogen cycle creates beneficial bacteria that converts waste into ammonia. Another good bacteria converts ammonia to nitrite, and then nitrite converts to nitrate. Your ammonia and nitrite should be 0ppm before jellies are introduced into the aquarium. Remember, nitrate is not harmful to jellies, and will remain in the tank once the cycling process is complete.
