Matt and Kanlaya were a typical young couple forging their lives together when Kanlaya was suddenly debilitated by two massive strokes and a cancer diagnosis that left her paralyzed and cognitively impaired. Matt struggles to maintain some semblance of normalcy and stability for their young son, Ty, while caring for Kanlaya full time. He is dedicated to Kanlaya’s care knowing that what Ty needs most is his mom.

"Caregiving", a documentary created with executive producer Bradley Cooper highlighting the challenges and triumphs of caregiving in America, will premiere Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS and on the PBS YouTube Channel.
