ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK IN BENGALI IS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST AND SERVICE MENTIONED BELOW PROVIDED THAT THE SAID COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT OF KNOWLEDGE IN BENGALI IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR THOSE CANDIDATES WHOSE MOTHER TONGUE IS NEPALI. THIS WILL BE TESTED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW. MOTOR VEHICLES INSPECTOR (NON-TECHNICAL) IN THE TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF W.B. – 74 (SEVENTY-FOUR) [8 for O.B.C.-A, 4 for O.B.C.-B, 17 for S.C., 4 for S.T., 2 for Meritorious Sportsperson & 1 each reserved for Persons with Disabilities (Blindness or Low Vision) & (Loco-Motor Disability or Cerebral Palsy)]

PAY : (P.B. – 3) Rs. 7,100/- - Rs. 37,600/- with Grade Pay Rs. 3,900/-.

QUALIFICATIONS : (i) Must have Bachelor’s degree of a recognized University; (ii) Must have the minimum physical standard as mentioned below:-

AGE: Must not be less than 18 (eighteen) years and not more than 39 (thirty-nine) years on the 01.01.2019 and upper age-limit shall be relaxable in respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes or the Other Backward Classes (Group A or Group B) or other reserved category, if any, as per the extant rules of the Government.

SYLLABUS & SCHEME FOR EXAMINATION: The examination shall be conducted in two parts: PART-I: Written examination conducted by the Commission. PART-II: Candidates will be called to PART-II (Personality Test) on the basis of the ranks in PART-I Examination. The Personality Test will be conducted by the Commission. Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in PART-I & PART-II Examinations taken together.
