90 years to the day after Alcock and Brown landed their Vimy in Ireland, The Brooklands Vimy replica NX71MY, took off from Ireland to fly past Brooklands. It stopped off at Fairoaks on the way. Many more Vimy related videos here https://www.andysvideo.com/
Background: The Vickers Vimy Replica was built in America in 1994 and in the same year, it flew from Brooklands to Australia (Via Farnborough) Re-enacting the ground breaking flight of 1919. The same aircraft later also re-enacted the flight from England to South Africa (which had been first done in 1920) and then finally in 2005 re-enacted the famous 1919 Alcock and Brown Transatlantic flight.
