Building black locust selfbow from scratch.
The bow was finished just 2 months and one week after harvesting the tree. Sometimes I'm a bit impatient and I had to dry this wood quicker than usually.
This beauty draws 30lbs at 28". The stave was full of character and had a bit of natural reflex. I already love this wood. Seems it like to be heat treated. It took nice darker color after meeting my heat gun. At rest the bow holds some reflex. The handle wrap is from natural leather, arrow rest is purple heart. It was my first black locust bow.
Sorry for some heater background sounds - those were really cold days in my workshop.
