我们经常只会在口头上说，我们要“跨越族群”，但东禅寺的庆典活动，却以行动真真正正地证明了喜庆佳节不分宗教和种族的理念。

带着两个小瓜，我们在这里见到许多前来感受农历新年气氛的马来同胞、印度同胞和各地游客，希望这个和谐共处的社会能继续成为马来西亚的骄傲。让我们世世代代的子孙，为自己的国家感到自豪。

Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple, located in Jenjarom, Selangor, is a major Buddhist holy land in Malaysia. The temple occupies a land area of 24 acres and is well-equipped with a main hall, an exhibition centre, a floral garden, a restaurant as well as various sports and leisure facilities. It is not only a religious establishment and monastery but also a well-known activity destination in the country. During major festivities such as Chinese New Year, Wesak Day, Mid-Autumn Festival and so on, it will hold unique and interesting activities for the public to take part in.

We have always paid lip service by saying that we wish to ‘go beyond ethnic groups’. However, the festive celebration activities in Dong Zen Temple are real actions to prove that festivities can really transcend religious and ethnic barriers.

Bringing my two children to Dong Zen Temple, we saw many of our Malay and Indian friends as well as tourists from various countries coming here to feel the celebrative mood of Chinese New Year. It is my hope that such a harmonious society can continue to be the pride of Malaysia. Let all our future generations feel proud of our own country.
