The Lightsaber Crystal That Produced a TERRIBLE Lightsaber Blade - Kimber Stone Lightsaber Crystal

Описание: The Kimber Stone was a lightsaber crystal that was discovered by the Jedi Order before the Clone Wars. The Jedi Order investigated whether not these crystals would be useful for use inside of their lightsaber, but once they tested the Kimber stones, they quickly came to the conclusion that these lightsaber crystals were completely and utterly useless in combat.

The Kimber Stone was a type of lightsaber crystal which was found only on the brutal volcanic world of Y’ness. Surprisingly, this planet was actually located in the N’Zoth system, which sat right in the core worlds region of the galaxy, giving very simple and easy access to for any Jedi Knight who wanted to travel there.

The vicious super volcanoes which dotted the hellish surface of the planet actually produced small crystalline stones called Kimber Stones. After hearing about a potential new source of lightsaber crystals which was so close to the Jedi temple on Coruscant, the Jedi quickly became very interested in locking down the planet, and keeping any outsiders away. The Jedi council was very excited about this discovery because it meant that their Jedi younglings would not have to travel far into the unknown regions to reach Ilum when the time came to collect their kyber crystals.

Unfortunately however, once Jedi scouts reached the volcanic world and evaluated the Kimber Stone crystals on its surface, they quickly deemed them to be unsuitable. The Jedi judged this crystals as useless and unsuitable for their weapons because they produced an extremely bright, but incredibly weak blade which was non-lethal. The Jedi council weren’t even interested in using these new Lightsaber crystals for training scenarios with Jedi younglings and Padawans because they weren’t that much better than what was already in use. Because of this, the Jedi Order of course quickly lost interest in the planet.

Despite this, a few renegade Jedi Knights made the short voyage to the infernal world in secret, hoping to collect some Kimber Lightsaber crystals for themselves. Some members of the Jedi order actually believed that these stones had huge potential, if a user was powerful enough in the force to harness their energy and turn them lethal. As far as we know however, no Jedi was ever able to achieve this. A vast many crystals were harvested from the world by rebellious Jedi knights, without the council ever knowing.

Unfortunately, once the Jedi Order was destroyed by Chancellor Palpatine through the tragic call of Order 66, these non-lethal crystals were quickly seized from the Jedi temple and those Jedi who had stolen them from the volcanic world. By the time the Empire was well established, these crystals were sold as simple trinkets on the black market and invisible market by scoundrels and mercenaries who didn’t actually understand what they could be used for. These crystals could be found in dodgy marketplaces across the galaxy and very commonly in the Coruscant underworld. Who knows, maybe we would have seen these Kimber Stone Lightsaber crystals appear in the Cancelled 1313 game from George Lucas.
