Raghupur Fort is a historic site located in the beautiful Tirthan Valley region of Himachal Pradesh, India.It is situated at an elevation of approximately 3,540 meters (around 11,600 feet) near the famous Jalori Pass in the Kullu district.Believed to have been built by the Mandi rulers (some sources say Kullu rulers) in the 17th century, it was primarily used as a strategic watchtower and defense post against invaders.
The fort is mostly in ruins, with only remnants of its stone walls still visible.The main draw is the breathtaking panoramic view it offers, including a 360-degree vista of the surrounding Himalayas, lush valleys.
It's a popular trekking destination, typically involving a moderately challenging 3-5 km hike from Jalori Pass, through dense forests .
