Flying a drone into the old mine shaft at the Elkhorn Mine and Mill. Project partners with MT Tech and MBMG are mapping the inner workings of the mine (about 1,000 feet of shafts, drifts, and the main adit tunnel) to locate all water inputs contributing to acid mine discharge coming from the old mine shaft.
It's too dangerous to physically send someone in there, so technology came to the rescue! The information gathered through this mapping process will be critical to us as we move forward with a reclamation/restoration approach.
