Supreme Court protects YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia from arrest, bars new FIRs

The Supreme Court on Tuesday protected YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia from arrest for his controversial remarks about parents and sex during the show ‘India Got Latent’ but lambasted him for his “filthy language”, remarking he threw up “something very dirty in his mind” during the programme.
A Bench of Justices Surya Kant and N.K. Singh ordered that no new criminal cases must be registered against Mr. Allahbadia on the basis of his remarks. He would be at liberty to approach the local police in Thane, Maharashtra, for personal protection in the event of any threat.
The court however barred the YouTuber from participating in shows. “Stop this show business for the time being,” Justice Kant told his counsel, advocate Abhinav Chandrachud.
