At the Africa Energy Indaba, South Africa’s South African Nuclear Energy Corporation and Rosatom signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in nuclear skills development and human capital training.
The agreement aims to expand collaboration in education, training, and technology exchange to support the development of South Africa’s nuclear sector and future clean energy capacity.
Key focus areas include:
• Training and skills development in nuclear science and technology
• Educational exchanges and bursaries for South African students
• Support for young professionals and women in the nuclear sector
• Collaboration in nuclear research and advanced technologies
The partnership supports South Africa’s long-term energy planning under the Integrated Resource Plan, where nuclear energy forms part of the country’s future energy mix.
