Finally tried the Montréal Smoked Meat Sandwich from Costco. It's a shocking $7.99 😮😮. It's shocking because compared to their other items and their portion sizes...it doesn't really match.
First, I was disappointed by my pickle! The flavor was tasty, but it was super soft and off-putting without the crunch.
Now on to the sandwich...the bread was very mid. The meat was good, but it didn't taste like genuine Montreal-style smoked meat. It was lacking seasoning. I wasn't a fan of how they just put it all in the middle of the bread...I had to rearrange it, which is annoying after walking around Costco touching a million things, so I just put some mustard on and waited to do it in the car after some hand sanitizer. Eating a sandwich is one thing, but moving some meat around is not it lol, especially if it's $8.
It's definitely overpriced and I won't be getting it again. I know this isn't super "new," but I wouldn't be surprised if they got rid of it any time soon. The poutine still reigns supreme!!
