The Huaisheng Mosque, located in Guangzhou city, Guangdong Province, China, is one of the oldest mosques in the world at over 1,300 years old. It was first built in 742 (during the Tang Dynasty).

It was completely rebuilt in 1350 during the Yuan Dynasty by Emperor Zhizheng (1341-1368). At the end of the 15th century, the mosque suffered a devastating fire, so it underwent renovation in 1695 during the Qing Dynasty by Emperor Kangzi.

The mosque is also known as the Lighthouse Mosque, because its high tower was used as a signpost by ships on the Zhujiang River at that time.
