Rolled oats - 1 cup
Roasted mung dal - 1/2 cup (soaked for 30 minutes )
Medium size onion - 1 chopped
Ginger - a small piece
Green chillies - 2 (adjust accordingly )
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Cinnamon stick - 1 medium size
Frozen green peas - 1/2 cup
Carrot - 1(chopped )
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 3/4 tsp ( adjust accordingly)
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Water - 5cups
Ghee or oil - 1tbsp
Coriander leaves
Turn the saute mode on and keep it on normal. Add ghee. When its hot add the cumin and cinnamon. Once fragrant add the onion,ginger and chillies. Saute until they turn translucent . Then add the vegetables. Saute well for about 2 minutes. Reduce the heat. Keep the saute mode ' less'. Then add all the spice powders. Saute well. Then add mung dal and saute for another 2 minutes. Add the oats. Mix well. Add 5cups of water and salt. Mix everything together. Cancel saute mode.Close the lid. Pressure cook for 6 minutes on HIGH.Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes and quick release. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Serve warm!!
