I always DRY store my used pads in a small bucket in my bathroom and once I'm ready to wash them, I do it in 2 parts. 1st to soak the blood stained ones in a cool wash with oxi clean (I use Vanish) and then I do a proper wash.

If there are any stains still on the pads after the 1st soak I use Ecover stain remover (you can use any you like) and stain treat any pads that need it (just don't be too rough on them) and then just put all or them in the washing machine again (plus all the non trained pads).

I always use 40 degrees wash (hot wash sets blood stains!!!). I use a bit more oxi clean in this 2nd wash plus washing powder(any is fine).

Do not use washing liquid or liquid tabs as most of them have fabric softener in them and you don't want to use ANY fabric softener when washing yous cloth pads as this will reduce their absorbency and then the pads are pretty much useless.

I do how ever use white vinegar, to wash out any residual washing powder (and I always do an extra rinse on my second wash and an extra spin)

Once the pads are washed I just snap them together and hang to dry.
