The Hi-Lux Leatherwood ART Scope - Guide to Manual and Automatic Modes

We'd like to take a moment to let you know - you can do more than just known-sized targets at unknown distances. Here's a walk-through of the ART scope's two modes of operation:

0:01:06 Automatic Mode Overview
For when you know how big the target is, but you don't know the distance.
While in automatic mode, framing your target (by turning the zoom ring) also adjusts the trajectory the scope is compensating for. After the target is framed, just aim and fire.

Any situation where you don't know the distance but do know the target size (even roughly) is perfect for automatic mode.

Manual mode offers some flexibility. Here, you can set the distance, then zoom in for a clearer view of the target, or pull back for a view of the whole field. In manual mode, adjusting your magnification does not adjust the trajectory.

How to switch to manual mode:
1. Loosen the screw in the thumb tab of the range ring/ zoom ring.
2. Pull back on the range ring/ zoom ring.
You're now in Manual Mode.
(Typically, we leave the screw a little loose on our own rifles, to easily flip between Automatic and Manual mode)

Turn the CAM to the distance you're shooting at. Turn the magnification to whatever setting you'd like. Change each one when you want, as you want.

The calibration marks for the CAM also serve as distance indicators. The eyepiece indicator arrow points at the compensation distance on the CAM.

While in manual mode, you can adjust your trajectory without having to click the turrets. By telling the CAM to compensate for a different distance, you can change the overall trajectory. If your target is at 500 yards and your bullets are going over the top, you can 'tell' the CAM that the target is closer, dropping your firing arc onto the target.
