🇫🇷 Embark on a journey to master the French language with this new course for beginners! The goal of this new course is to guide you to an 'A1' proficiency level according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

📚 This nineteenth lesson is about French Adjectives. In this lesson we go through the details and nuances associated with French Adjectives. First you'll systematically learn how to form the female and plural versions of an adjective. Forming the female adjectives can be tricky depending on their ending. Therefore we'll go through several ending patterns and explain how to make the female adjective correctly.

📚 Secondly, you'll learn which adjectives to put in front of a noun and after the noun.

📚 Thirdly, you'll discover that there are some adjectives that can be placed either in front of a noun or after a noun. There are illustrative examples given how using the same adjective can significantly change the meaning of a phrase depending on if it's placed before or after a noun. It is important that you master this nuance as you progress in your French learning journey, in order to communicate and understand complex ideas.

📚 We will also cover the grammar rule related to the plural of adjectives accompanied by the plural indefinite article "des". You'll learn that "des" needs to be changed to "de" if the adjective is placed in front of a plural noun. There is also an exception to this rule, when "des" plays the role of a "contracted article", as in "de" used as a preposition + "les". The differences are explained as clearly as possible.

📚 Finally you'll learn that when some adjectives are placed in front of a masculine noun beginning with a vowel or H muet, those adjectives need to be slightly changed. Effort has been taken to explain the nuanced difference between the adjectives "nouveau" and "neuf", which can sometimes confuse learners of French language, because they both can mean "new".
