Here's a comparison of inflation rates in countries around the world.
Today, UK inflation was announced to be 9%, which is the highest level in 40 years and well above the Bank of England's 2% target.
This means average prices in the economy are 9% higher than they were at the same time last year.
But how does this compare to other countries?
UK inflation is higher than the average in the European Union, which stands at 8.1%.
However, inflation is clearly still very high elsewhere in Europe. Germany and France have faired slightly better, although they're both still above their respective inflation targets.
Looking across the Atlantic, the USA's latest figures came in at 8.3%.
We can also compare these developed economy figures to the BRICS emerging economies.
Brazil and Russia have very high double digit inflation.
Slightly lower are India and South Africa, leaving China as the only economy on this list where inflation is lower than their central bank target.
Generally then, prices are rising quickly across the globe, but the UK is fairing slightly worse than comparable developed nations.
