In a significant development in the mass burial case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) unearthed skeletal remains, believed to be those of a man, from the sixth excavation site in Dharmasthala on Thursday, following two days of digging at five other locations. According to an SIT official, 15 bones were recovered at the sixth site, with no skull found and some bones reported as broken, per a report by The Hindu. The SIT has identified 15 sites for excavation based on a complaint from a former sanitation worker. On Friday, the team commenced digging at the seventh site in the temple town of Dharmasthala as part of its ongoing investigation into alleged mass burials in the area.
