Originally titled 'By the Sleepy Lagoon' Sleepy Lagoon was written in 1930
by British composer Eric Coates (1886-1957). Coates also wrote the famous Dambusters March and other favourites of British light music.
Sleepy Lagoon has been used as the theme tune to BBC radios 'Desert Island Discs'. The show was first broadcast in 1942 and is still running today.
