Learn primitive skills, bushcraft & wilderness survival...from the comfort of your own backyard!
Here's how to make cordage (rope) from fibrous materials. This video will teach you the basic technique on which all future processes build. Learn this one in minutes and get your cordage-addiction started! Attainable by four-year-olds and one-hundred-and-four-year-olds alike. An amazing way to instantly connect with your landscape and get making things right away! (Note: Consider yourself warned that it's an addicting skill to learn...)
This video is filmed primarily from a point-of-view (POV) shot so you see exactly what cordage should look like during every step of the process.
You'll also learn some geek tips about archaeology and education. : )
Edit: At one point in the video, Doug points out that raffia fibers come from the raffia palm tree and is, therefore, not a 'grass' as most people refer to it. Did you note the slip up? Palm trees are technically a member of the grass family, just like bamboo and cattail! So yes, actually...raffia IS a grass. : )
