According to Russia's interior ministry, a 15-year-old boy entered the university sports hall armed with a knife, where he attacked several students. When police arrived to arrest him, the boy allegedly attacked both officers with the knife before injuring himself. All those injured, whether students or police officers, were taken to a clinical facility near the scene for treatment, while the boy was transported to a pediatric hospital with serious injuries.

Unconfirmed sources on Telegram reported that one of the injured students is an Indian national and that there may have been multiple attackers; however, this has not yet been confirmed by Russian law enforcement agencies. The Russian Federation Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case as a result of the incident.

The attack has raised concerns about the safety of foreign students studying in Russia, and authorities have assured citizens that more information regarding the investigation will be available once it is completed.
