Let’s talk about requests — because the truth is… I don’t take them the way people assume.
Some requests are personal favorites — songs you love when it’s just you. And I get it. But when I’m DJing, I’m responsible for everybody’s experience at once. The room has its own heartbeat, and one song can either lift it… or break it.
Then there are the requests that matter — the ones tied to culture, family, tradition, or a whole group of people who came to celebrate together. Those aren’t just “songs.” Those are moments.
So I’m always listening… but I’m also always deciding. That’s the job. That’s the art. And if you’re on my dance floor, I’m protecting the vibe like it’s a promise.
