Dive into the majestic blue waters surrounding the Silk Cayes off the coast of Placencia, southern Belize and interact with wise-looking logger head turtles and marvel at the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef of Belize which lies approximately 20 miles east of the popular touristic peninsula. The Silk Cayes are part of the larger Marine Reserve and have a couple of great dive sites along superb snorkeling locations that boast a great variety of marine life. At any the sites you will have the opportunity to see turtles, nurse sharks, and Caribbean reef sharks, as well as other exotic and colorful smaller fish species. The actual cayes, Silk Cayes (also known as Queen Cayes) are located about a mile inside the barrier reef.
