This traditional Sri Lankan sour fish curry (Ambulthiyal) is full of blended spices, a unique taste also a method of preserving fish without refrigeration or freezing. This is one of the favourite dishes among the Sri Lankans
Ingredients for Fish Ambulthiyal (Sri Lankan sour fish curry)
Fish – 500g (any firm fleshed fish such as Tuna or Sail fish)
Garcinia (Goraka) paste – 2 tbsp
Ground black pepper - 3 tbsp
Ginger paste – 1 tbsp
Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Cinnamon powder – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
Pandan leaf
Green Chilli - 3
Water – ¼ cup
