According to The New York Times, the recent U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure was one of the most advanced non-nuclear operations in history.
In a covert night mission, six B-2A Spirit bombers dropped 12 GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs on the Fordow facility—America’s most powerful bunker busters, designed to destroy deep underground targets. Simultaneously, 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched from U.S. submarines toward Natanz and Isfahan.
But despite the firepower, early reports suggest the nuclear sites may still be partially operational—raising the possibility that Iran’s fortifications have now outpaced U.S. conventional strike capabilities.
If true, the "deep and precise" doctrine for non-nuclear containment may have collapsed—leaving only two paths forward: nuclear weapons or full-scale war.
