Searching for Abandoned Houses in Bulgaria’s Forgotten Villages in Elena region

Описание: This is Day 1 of my house hunting journey in the remote countryside of Bulgaria — this time around the small villages near the town of Elena. I drove deep into unknown roads, looking for abandoned homes tucked into the Balkan hills. Some of the views were absolutely breathtaking, and the charm of these forgotten towns is undeniable.

But not everything went as expected.

The locals weren’t exactly thrilled about my arrival, and the sense of being an outsider was very real. Still, I kept going — talking to people, walking through ruins, and feeling out which places spoke to me.

This is only the beginning. The quest continues.
